Milestone Retrospective
Link-UP was born out of a real problem faced by student developers and hackathon participants: assembling a competent, balanced project team with complementary skill sets is typically a chaotic process of cold DMs and misaligned expectations.
I designed and engineered Link-UP as a full-stack platform that pairs candidate skill discovery with active collaboration infrastructure. The backend is built on Supabase PostgreSQL with strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies protecting project workspaces, while the frontend utilizes React, Next.js, and TypeScript with duplex WebSocket channels to power instant presence indicators and sub-100ms messaging.
Key Deliverables & Engineering Outcomes
- Engineered automated team formation workflows that reduced manual teammate search effort by ~40%.
- Implemented secure authentication with Supabase, JWT-based sessions, and Google OAuth.
- Designed a normalized PostgreSQL schema featuring role-based access control (Admin, Collaborator, Viewer).
- Delivered an optimistic UI state synchronization pipeline ensuring zero interaction latency for chat and task updates.
